Pastor Cindy’s July 29th Epistle

Pastor Cindy’s July 29th Epistle

Town Hall Meeting Information
After much conversation at the Ad Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 19th, we affirmed that we need to set up a series of Town Hall Meetings to further inform the congregation about the purpose, meaning and why of possible Disaffiliation from the United Methodist Church. I have scheduled these meetings on the following dates: Thursday, August 11, 2:00 p.m; Sunday, August 14, 5:30 p.m; Thursday, August 25, 2:00 p.m; Sunday, August 28, 5:30 p.m.; Thursday, Sept. 1 and 15—2:00 p.m, and Sunday, September 18 at 5:30 p.m. All meetings will be held in New Fellowship Hall.  At the end of each meeting we will take a “straw poll” vote to determine the thoughts of the body present.  This will help us to determine our next steps.  You will be permitted ONE straw poll vote per person. There will be a sign-up sheet in the narthex for attendance at a Town Hall Meeting.  This does not bind you to that particular meeting should something prevent you from attending the one you signed up for. There are a significant number of hand-outs.  When you sign-up, check off whether you would like a digital copy sent to you prior to the meeting. {This will save on paper/printing costs}

FIRST FRIDAY NIGHT WORSHIP—Friday, August 5, 6:00 p.m.
First Friday Night Worship will be Friday, August 5 at 6:00 p.m. in the EUMC EpiCenter.  The Praise Band from Jeffersonville Christian Church, the home church of Kate Farrell, will be joining our EUMC Praise Band.  We will have pizza, brownies, soda and water and all the food is free.  Bring your friends and come out for food, fellowship and fun.  In July, we posted the service on-line on Facebook which we will do so again this month.

Willing Workers Quilt and Craft Show is on for 2022!
Friday, September 23, 9 a.m.— 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 24 9 a.m.—4:00 p.m.
There will be no food sold this year.  There will be jellies, jams, and candies for sale in the Country Store located in the Craft Area {Willing Workers Area}.  A Correction from last week’s EpistleIf you have quilts you would like to display, please bring them to the church on Tuesday, September 20 9-2; Wednesday, September 21 10-2; and Thursday, September 22 8-10 a.m. Thursday is the last day for drop-off.  If you have questions, please feel free to call Lynn Seward at 502-753-9533.

Harvest Homecoming
Harvest Homecoming will be October 6-9, 2022. We will need two couples or four individuals who can oversee this project and dedicate necessary time to make sure that everything is taken care of for Harvest Homecoming. We are getting to the place where we need to set dates for Candy Making, begin getting donations for Trailer and candy supplies and beginning to purchase supplies for the trailer and candy making.  Please talk with Pastor Cindy Osgood or Paul/Donna Gibson if you have questions about what is required to take on this task.
