Pastor Cindy’s October 8th Epistle

Pastor Cindy’s October 8th Epistle

NEWS AND INFORMATION

WALK TO EMMAUS I will be away next weekend {Oct. 14-17} participating in a Walk to Emmaus.  I know that several of you have attended the Walk.  I will be sponsoring two people from Edwardsville as pilgrims on the Walk: Margarette Muchow and Joanne Wilson.  The walk is not a secret society nor does the walk make someone special for having attended.  The walk focuses on our walk with Christ and how we live that relationship out on a daily basis.  The walk is also designed to enhance the life of the local church by those who have attended a walk. One of the activities that involves people who have attended is a Reunion Group.  We will begin having a Reunion Group on Saturday, October 23 at 9 a.m. in the Willing Workers Room {OFH}.  I invite anyone who has gone on a Walk to Emmaus or any other similar three day experience to join us {Great Banquet, Kairos, Lamplighters, etc.}.  Please keep us in prayer while we are away.  Luke Farrell will be preaching in my absence.

Change in Church Office: Darlene Caimen’s office hours will change effectively Monday, October 18, 2021. Darlene will be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9-3.  Darlene is needed to assist with some family matters that require a change in her availability.  Pastor Cindy will be in the office on Mondays and Jerry Scott will be in the office on Fridays should you need something.

Food Drive
We will have two additional food drives this year: Thursday, October 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  The last drive will be Saturday, November 13 from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  This drive will be a service project for our kids and youth.  All food can be dropped off at Door #1.

Habitat for Humanity
We have some dates for doing light construction.  We need 3-5 people who can work on November 18 {Tuesday}; December 2 {Thursday}, and 14 {Tuesday}. Please let Bob Youell know if you can help on either of those dates.  This is a great project to help a family get into a home of their own.   \

Plastic Lids
We have filled the two boxes located in the church {Door #1 by the Epi-Center Entrance and Door #2 by the Office entrance}. They have been emptied so that you can fill them up again. Please make sure your lids are CLEAN AND DRY before dropping in the box. These will be melted down and used to make a bench in memory/honor of Diana Keithley.  The boxes have pictures and explanations of the lids and items that are acceptable. This is a great way to do something good for the environment and honor someone we all knew and loved.

Prayer Concerns: Please keep each of these persons, their families and other concerns listed in your prayers.
