Pastor Cindy’s October 15th Epistle

Pastor Cindy’s October 15th Epistle

HARVEST HOMECOMING was a great success.  We had forty {40+} plus people who either helped make candy, bought supplies, or helped work in the trailer during the festival.  We still have money coming in, but so far our income for this year is $6,400.  We still have candy—Buckeyes, fudge, and bon-bons available. We sold out of persimmon pudding, divinity, potato candy and lots of hot dogs and barbeque was sold.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this project a success. We owe a big Thank YOU to Paul and Donna Gibson.  They are retiring from Harvest Homecoming.  We will need to have someone step up to oversee things going forward.  It is not too early to start thinking about “Yes” to chair this project.

WALK TO EMMAUS I am away this weekend participating in the Walk to Emmaus with Joanne Wilson and Margarette Muchow.  Luke Farrell will be preaching in my place.  He will be preaching about God’s promises.  I pray that you will not miss church and come out and support him as he fills the pulpit.

Change in Church Office: Darlene Caimen’s office hours will change effectively Monday, October 18, 2021. Darlene will be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9-3.  Darlene is needed to assist with some family matters that require a change in her availability.  Pastor Cindy will be in the office on Mondays and Jerry Scott will be in the office on Fridays should you need something.

Food Drive
We will have two additional food drives this year: Thursday, October 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  The last drive will be Saturday, November 13 from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  This drive will be a service project for our kids and youth.  All food can be dropped off at Door #1.

Habitat for Humanity
We have some dates for doing light construction.  We need 3-5 people who can work on November 18 {Tuesday}; December 2 {Thursday}, and 14 {Tuesday}. Please let Bob Youell know if you can help on either of those dates.  This is a great project to help a family get into a home of their own.

We will be remembering those who have passed away from October 1, 2020—October 1, 2021.  We have sent letters to those who are church members. If you have someone you would like to have recognized, please send their name and a picture with their name and date of death so that they may be included in the PowerPoint.  Our All Saints service will be Sunday, November 7 at 9:00 a.m. If you have questions, please feel free to call the office or speak with Pastor Cindy.

Plastic Lids
We have filled the two boxes located in the church {Door #1 by the Epi-Center Entrance and Door #2 by the Office entrance}. Please make sure your lids are CLEAN AND DRY before dropping in the box. These will be melted down and used to make a bench in memory/honor of Diana Keithley.  The boxes have pictures and explanations of the lids and items that are acceptable. This is a great way to do something good for the environment and honor someone we all knew and loved.
